Edinburgh, Indiana is located straight down I-65 from state capital Indianapolis, between bigger cities, Franklin and Columbus. In the 2000 census, the town had a population of 4,505.
Several town characteristics distinguish this small, Midwestern community. Home to the National Guard training center Camp Atterbury, it also claims a large Industrial Park and a fine area shopping center, Edinburgh Premium Outlets.

The town of Edinburgh, Indiana was begun unofficially by settler John Campbell in 1820, and officially platted in 1822, with 32 lots. Incorporation as a town followed in 1853. It has seen its ups and downs, but today is a thriving and beautiful place to make a home.
